Train for Work - what is it?
Train for work is a unique, online learning portal, available under licence to any organisation that wishes to develop, or prepare, people for the workplace. It aims to offer useful and relevant, self-study training for everyone currently in work, or planning to be in work - that's also fun to do!
The portal supports two programmes, The Responsible Employee and The Responsible Manager, each consisting of 11 and 12 courses respectively, each course being approximately one hour in duration.
Individuals may purchase places online or group access may be set up for employees of companies.
For larger organisations or learning communities the whole portal may be cloned and re-branded to provide a dedicated learning portal for that organisation. In this instance, the programmes themselves may also be customised to make them as relevant as possible to the target audience.
For example, in our project with GoSkills - the Sector Skills Council (SSC) for Passenger Transport - the scenarios used in the courses were changed to be more relevant to the sector and then the courses delivered via their own branded portal at preferential member rates - click here to view the portal.
